Facilities & Grounds

A Setting for Silence, Prayer, and Reflection

Set on 280 acres in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Sacred Heart Jesuit Retreat House offers a landscape shaped by quiet, beauty, and space. Surrounded by open land and expansive views, the retreat house invites solitude, attentiveness, and unhurried prayer — supporting the interior work of retreat through the natural rhythm of the land.

From this place, one can look west toward the mountains, east across rolling valleys and mesas, and south toward Castle Rock and Pikes Peak. The setting itself encourages stillness, reflection, and a deeper awareness of God’s presence.

Sacred Heart is located approximately 1.5 miles west of Sedalia, Colorado, and is easily accessible while remaining set apart from daily noise.

The Retreat House

The retreat house itself is designed to support prayer, rest, and reflection. An architectural gem nestled into the landscape, the building offers both simplicity and comfort in service of retreat.

Facilities include:

  • 50 private retreat rooms

  • A spacious chapel for communal and personal prayer

  • Quiet lounges for reading and reflection

  • A warm, welcoming dining room

Throughout the house, the atmosphere is intentionally calm and reverent—allowing retreatants to feel both supported and free to enter more deeply into silence.
